1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using shopbrew.co ("Website"), joining the Shopbrew community ("Community"), or attending Shopbrew events ("Events"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, members, and event attendees.
2. Service Description
Shopbrew provides:
- A community platform for Shopify founders, marketers, and agencies
- A podcast featuring founder interviews and growth insights
- In-person and virtual events
- A job board and resource library
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.
3. Accounts & Eligibility
To join the Shopbrew community, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Have a genuine connection to the Shopify or ecommerce ecosystem (founder, marketer, agency, or related professional)
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@shopbrew.co if you suspect unauthorised access.
We reserve the right to approve or reject community membership applications at our discretion.
4. Usage Rules
When using Shopbrew, you agree not to:
- Use the platform for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable law
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the website or community platform without written permission
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any company
- Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform
- Use Shopbrew to send unsolicited commercial communications (spam) to other members
- Circumvent any technical restrictions or security measures
- Reproduce or redistribute podcast content without attribution and written permission
5. Community Guidelines
Shopbrew is a community for serious practitioners. To keep it valuable for everyone, all members must adhere to the following guidelines:
What we expect
- Be specific and substantive. Vague advice helps no one. Share numbers, context, and real experience.
- Be respectful. Disagreement is healthy. Personal attacks, harassment, and discrimination are not tolerated.
- Be honest. Don't exaggerate results or misrepresent your experience or affiliation.
- Give before you take. Contribute to discussions before making requests. Lurking-only behaviour that provides no value to the community will result in removal.
What we don't allow
- Self-promotion, product pitches, or affiliate links without prior approval from the Shopbrew team
- Sharing confidential information belonging to other companies or individuals
- Content that is abusive, racist, sexist, homophobic, or discriminatory in any form
- Misinformation or deliberately misleading advice
- Posting content belonging to others without permission or proper attribution
- Recruiting members for competing communities or platforms
Violations of community guidelines may result in a warning, suspension, or permanent removal from the community at our sole discretion.
6. User Content
When you post content in the Shopbrew community (posts, comments, resources, job listings), you:
- Retain ownership of your content
- Grant Shopbrew a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the community platform
- Confirm that you have the right to post the content and that it does not infringe third-party rights
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or our community guidelines.
7. Intellectual Property
All website content, podcast content, branding, trademarks, and design elements are the intellectual property of Shopbrew unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute our content without written permission, except for:
- Personal, non-commercial use
- Short quotes with clear attribution and a link back to the original source
Podcast episodes may be shared on social media with attribution. Full episode transcripts or audio may not be reproduced elsewhere without permission.
8. Events
For Shopbrew events (in-person and virtual):
- Attendance is subject to the code of conduct described in Section 5
- We reserve the right to remove attendees who violate our code of conduct without refund
- For paid events, refunds are available up to 72 hours before the event start time. After that, we are unable to offer refunds but you may transfer your place to another person.
- Shopbrew is not responsible for travel or accommodation costs incurred by attendees
- We may photograph or record events for marketing purposes. By attending, you consent to being photographed in group settings. If you do not wish to appear in photos, please notify us on arrival.
- Event details (date, location, speakers) may change. We will notify registered attendees of any material changes as soon as practicable.
9. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Shopbrew provides its services "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
- The content on Shopbrew (podcast episodes, community posts, resources) is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute professional business, legal, or financial advice. Always consult qualified professionals before making material business decisions.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Shopbrew services
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Termination
You may cancel your Shopbrew account at any time by emailing hello@shopbrew.co or using the account settings in the community platform.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the breach. We will notify you of termination by email where possible.
On termination, your right to access the community platform and member-only content will cease immediately.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify registered members via email and post a notice on this page with the updated date. Continued use of Shopbrew after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
